This is a postcard of the painting THANKSGIVING by Doris Lee that I have. I am now on the hunt for a lithograph or poster. Isn't it just perfect? The original is at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was painted in 1935.It's a perfect parody of my family of women- the woman in the mink is my mom,the baker- my sis Mag, me at the stove, my baby sister Cara with the basket of veggies and fruit and my sis Bridget getting ready to set the table. I just love it. For a picture of it from the Museum click HERE Another blog, THE MAGPIE FILES, did a nice piece on the artist HERE.
HAVE A HAPPY ONE- I KNOW I WILL.
